Book review: Linger

Book: Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, book 2)

Author: Maggie Stiefvater

I heard around that Linger as better than Shiver e for that reason I wanted badly to read Shiver. I did with all I’ve got and didn’t regret! Indeed Linger was better than the first book! Maybe because the characters were more familiar to me or maybe because Maggie Stiefvater seemed more comfortable with her writing.

Linger has many remarkable, intimate and soulful (you can easily cry reading it!) and involving moments. The character seemed more real and it you can feel the history and feelings of each one. I told you in the Shiver review that I loved the fact that we can each chapter is written by a different point of view. It’s great cause it gives the book some dynamism and we can read different point of views of a same situation and read in first person the memories and impressions of each character.

The mystery about Grace’s health keep us apprehensive thinking anything can happen at anytime! It keeps our heart tight cause the relationship between Sam and Grace come up against various complications in this book.

The book is amazing and I can’t wait for the next one to come out! I’m dying of curiosity!

Linger is the second book of the Trilogy: Wolves of Mercy Falls so you can expect a big fat cliff at the end to keep you crazy for the third book, Forever. Hold your hearts cause Forever will only be release on July of 2011!

Livro: Linger (Os Lobos de Mercy Falls, livro 2)

Autora: Maggie Stiefvater

Flickr love: Caitlin Bellah

I’m mesmerized by the effect achieved on most of these photos made by the young photographer Caitlin Bellah. Some of them look like paintings! I tend to prefer the most natural shots without much digital work but I have to give in and just looooove those!

Tip of the day: Learn how to make paper roses

Doing handmade stuff always relaxes me when I’m most stressed. Sew, paint, fold, glue stuff together are such a theraphy when you’re mind is full. Specially if it’s associated to some good music :)

I found this super simple tutorial on how to make paper roses. I made those a long time ago and I really want to do it again!

See how it’s easy!

Sail away from the safe harbor

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Tip of the day: Recyclart

I don’t throw things up in the garbage if I think they might be useful someday. It’s a flaw and my mum hates it cause I gather so much garbage! I have yet to show her this site I found that’s awesome to inpire you to reuse, recycle and use objects in a different way.

The great thing about Recyclart it’s that it exposes only images so it’s visually inspiring and easy to navigate and find the kind of stuff that interests you better.

It’s pretty, it’s fun and the best of all it’s eco friendly!

Here are some of the best examples I found.

Look of the day: Grunge rock kind of indie lazy

I don’t quite know what my mood is today and I consequently can’t classify the look I made up with. Not that I care about it cause generally I mix a lot of styles in one outfit. Like now I’d say it turned out a bit grunge rock kind of indie lazy look.

A lot has happened to me since last week (good things mostly!) and I’ll probably make a post about my week to entertain you guys with my personal thingies. Till then check my look of the day and my fashiolista account (I love that site so much!).

How would you classify it?
