How glorious it is, and also how painful, to be an exception.

4 things I said I’d never do
This post is written in two languages (English and Portuguese) because it’s a response to a meme written in Portuguese.
Very Jess does an interesting game on her blog called “Conte 4″ which means something like “Tell me 4 things”. On each “Conte 4″ she proposes a theme, gives her 4 answers and encourages the readers to answer it (through the comments or in their blogs). The last theme was “things you said you’d never do but ended up doing it”. Here are the 4 things I said I was never going to do but did it anyway.
A Very Jess faz uma brincadeira bem interessante no blog dela chamada Conte 4.
1) I used to say I was never going to put posters in my bedroom walls or on my wardrobe. I think I said that more to please my mum than anything. Some years ago I put a little shy Harry Potter trio poster on my photo board. In the next year I put one of Edward and Bella in the bottom of my wardrobe (you can barely see it) and last year I bought another Harry Potter poster and put on the inside of my wardrobe door. The worst thing is that I want other posters and I don’t know if I should switch the current ones or add new ones. And you won’t believe it but it was my mum who helped be placing the last one!

2) I used to say I was never going to be an indecisive person cause I always knew what I wanted. I still know what I want but life ends up taking us to distant roads than the one we had always desired. Instead of taking a shortcut like I wanted I’m going to have to take a distant diversion to get where I want. And this generates indecision. I hate it!
Detesto!

3) I used to say I’d never like 80′s culture cause I thought it was quite trashy. But look at me wearing high waisted and skinny jeans, wayfarers e even listening to 80′s music!

4) I used to say I’s never stop loving Ozzy Osbourne. But that was during the time I thought Black Sabbath was the second greatest band in the whole world and I only looked at young Ozzy photos. After The Osbournes was on TV I started to think he’s an idiot. We ought to cut him some slack though cause drugs probably killed 90% of his brain cells.
What about you? What are the 4 things you said you’d never do but ended up doing it anyway?

Rosie and Me
I might just have a new favourite indie folk band!
I’m so surprised and stoked right now! I began writing this post cause I have a great song to recommend and went looking for information about the band. The band sings in English and I listened to one of their songs non stop these past days. Rosie and Me happens to be a Brazilian band (I’m so proud!!). They’re from Curitiba and are just beginning their career!
The singer Rosanne Machado, describes the group as “unpretentious and simple”. Their music sounds very natural, spontaneous with positive and warm melodies. I hope they do great with the new album and have a long career with lots of success! You can download three of their songs for free on last.fm and like them on facebook to support their awesomeness ;)
The video is full of paper owls, pretty bicycles, cupcakes and a bunch of other stuff I like and you probably do to.

Purple, braids and boots
That’s what I’d like to dress today. And tomorrow and after that as well! It’s simple, purple (my favourite colour) and braidy (oh how I love braids! Hair please grow faster ok?). The high point of the outfit though is the boots. Without it the look would be pretty but ordinary. Adding contrasts is the most fun thing to do while dressing up! I love boots and it’s difficult to wear boots and look delicate and feminine at the same time you know? And she did it perfectly! *fans her*

Daniel’s bday and twitter backgrounds
I was preparing a post about the cute guys that make my life better but I just had to stop by to give my #1 guy my best wishes!
Happy Birthday Daniel Radcliffe!
Daniel is handsome, intelligent, successful and funny, what’s not to love in him?! Ok he talks way to much at times and says silly things but a guy can’t be perfect right?! He’s been #1 on my favourite guys lists for so many years and I think that won’t be changing anytime soon! So I bring you some of my favourite photos so we can drool all over him together.
I ought to prepare a better post about this guy later. I spent so much time looking at his pictures to make this post I ran out of time! Looking at his pictures made me want to play on photoshop so bad I had to do something! So I remembered many people asked me to make twitter backgrounds like the one I’m currently using. So here they are!
Twitter backgrounds - gifts for you!
Instructions:
1) Choose the image you want and save it to your computer.
2) In your main twitter page to to ‘Settings’ on your upper right menu.
3) Once in the ‘Settings’ page go to ‘Design’.
4) Click on ‘change background image’ and select the file you saved on your computer then click ‘save changes’.
5) Click on ‘change design colors’ and set it like that: background e4d3d3, text 333303, links cc3366, sidebar dfb626 and sidebar border dfb626 . Click ‘save changes’ and that’s it!
I might do other backgrounds if you like. Just let me know who should I use to make the next ones!
Hope you like!

The Yellow Handkerchief
At first I was interested in that movie only because of Kristen (of course!) and wasn’t expecting much of it. But curiosity’s got the best of me and I decided to take the risk.
The story is about three strangers who unintentionally embark in a road trip that end up changing people, relationships and life stories. The movie develops in a great balance of mystery, flashbacks and speed. The photography is fantastic, the flashbacks are well made and the cast worked great together.
William Hurt (Brett) was fabulous and his looks and tough manners that trick us to an initial image of his character that is essential to the whole story and probably the most intelligent thing on this movie. Kristen Stewart’s (Martine) awkwardness fit very well in this movie or maybe I’m just getting used to her awkward moments. To be honest I think she wasn’t half as awkward as she usually is. I loved her ballerina style and her hair was amazing! She looked so pretty all the time! Eddie Redmayne was great and natural as the nerdy and weird Gordy.
Overall it’s a great road trip, catching story of growth, love and premade judgements with a non disappointing ending. Definitely worth watching it!

Neil Slorance makes me believe guys have feelings
You know when you find a flickr account that you just want to favourite everything and don’t know what to look at first?! That happened a few months ago when I found out about Neil Slorance’s work. His drawings are simple in ideas and details. He takes funny silly ideas and transfer them to paper in a very cute manner. The simplicity of everything is what makes his work so special. He makes me believe guys have feelings.
That’s him :D

He works for commission and you can contact him plus see all of his drawings in his site or flickr (if you want to fav everything like I did). He also sells awesome postcards on Etsy. I think everyone on Postcrossing should buy his postcards cause they would look amazing in my collection :P

I decided I won’t be delaying my dreams anymore
I decided I won’t be delaying my dreams anymore. I made that decision after standing still and seeing a lot of people living my dream as I stood in the same place. I’ll focus on my objectives (even if they seem ridiculously distant and impossible). A decision like this is something that you must practice everyday and on many moments you just want to give up. Even when it seems like nothing cooperates and everything that happens takes away your opportunities and courage, go on, keep going. It’s best to live with a distant dream then live without even trying to achieve it.
