This is one of my favourite songs to add on a fanmixes. It has a soothing melody and great lyric. Too bad they didn’t even make and effort to make a good video. But oh well the greatest bands suck at music videos anyway!
I might just have a new favourite indie folk band!
I’m so surprised and stoked right now! I began writing this post cause I have a great song to recommend and went looking for information about the band. The band sings in English and I listened to one of their songs non stop these past days. Rosie and Me happens to be a Brazilian band (I’m so proud!!). They’re from Curitiba and are just beginning their career!
The singer Rosanne Machado, describes the group as “unpretentious and simple”. Their music sounds very natural, spontaneous with positive and warm melodies. I hope they do great with the new album and have a long career with lots of success! You can download three of their songs for free on last.fm and like them on facebook to support their awesomeness ;)
The video is full of paper owls, pretty bicycles, cupcakes and a bunch of other stuff I like and you probably do to.
Iron & Wine is the stage name used by Samuel Beam an American folk rock singer-songwriter. He said his stage name came from a dietary supplement named “Beef Iron & Wine” that he found in a general store. Weird! I admired the name more before I got to know its origins hehehe! Well I guess inspiration can come from everywhere right?
I got to know Iron & Wine’s music through the film Twilight with the song Flightless Bird, American Mouth which everyone knows and loves. So I searched for more of his music and instantly feel in love with Naked as We Came from the album Our Endless Numbered Days released in 2004. This is one of the songs I use to calm me down whenever I’m stressed. In fact I made a list of calm relaxing songs to listen to while reading books. Would you like me to share the list (just the artists name and titles of the songs)?
I had heard about that band before but only now I have actually noticed their work. All because Emma Watson my-all-time-inspiration is on their new video ‘Say you don’t want it’. If you like The Kooks, Arctic Monkeys and other British bands (<3) you have a great chance of enjoying their music.
I like Lily Allen’s music although I don’t really like her as a person. There’s one particular song I love and relate to at lot. I think it was written for me! Her voice is sweet and the melody is very relaxing. Makes me think Disney’s princesses :)
